In regards to Katherine, Stefan was much harder to get and challenging unlike Damon, who persistently chased and pursued Katherine as much as possible. Damon initially refused, but Stefan would not relent, saying he couldn't let him die. Later, Stefan and Elena are in the woods practicing "hunter defense" with bows and arrows. Downstairs, he and Damon argue about what to do next: Stefan wants to do everything they can to find a way out of Elena's transition, while Damon wants her to accept the inevitable, feed on human blood and not risk dying permanently. Stefan says that she had him but the elder Salvatore disagrees by saying that her brother just died and he's not enough, not this time. Caroline hung up the phone. In Pilot, Stefan and Damon engaged in a spar upon Damon's return to Mystic Falls. Klaus, however, keeps to respond ironically.
